Know anybody who ever lost an auto accident lawsuit?

I’ve seen MANY examples of people getting sued for at-fault auto accidents here, from serious accidents to fender benders. There are also a lot of victims who have collected from auto accidents to varying degrees. But has anyone here ever lost an auto lawsuit where they had to pay out of their pocket above what the insurance limits could cover? I may be facing this situation in the near future so just curious as to what to expect.
BR, You are observing people whose cases have made it all the way to trial. How likely is that to happen in a case with no SERIOUS injuries? I hope not very. Otherwise, it would seem like anybody who was ever at fault in a serious accident would lose all of their assets. That does not seem fair. An accident is an accident.

Yes. In the part of dallas where I work insurance fraud is common and the insurance companies catch on. One guy had 4 claims going at once.

Yes, I have know tons of people who have lost.
I am a Florida mediator, and I run across people all the time who are going to lose once they get into court. I hear back about many of them later and indeed they have lost.
Some of them then are being required to pay back the other side’s attorney fees and costs.
